Felicia van Bork

A Toronto native, Felicia van Bork received her MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown in 2009. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Columbia University, The New School, and the Art Students League.

The influences of both post-impressionism and abstract expressionism playfully share the stage in van Bork's collages, which she assembles from torn and cut pieces of her own monotype prints. The contrasting fragments evoke natural vistas, often populated by non-objective protagonists.

She has been honored with residency fellowships at Byrdcliffe, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and at the McColl Center for Visual Art, where she had been a participant of the Affiliate Artist program in 2011-2012.
