Charles Quest

Charles Quest, painter and printmaker, was born in Troy, New York, June 6, 1904. He died January 1, 1993. Quest received his education at Washington University School of Fine Arts in St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout his career he painted murals for churches, schools and other public buildings. He worked in sculpture, stone carving, mosaic and stained glass, but his greatest involvement his been in painting and printmaking.

Quest exhibited in over 100 museums and galleries throughout the world, and his work can be found in the permanent collections of such prestigious institutions as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Boston Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institute, among many others.
