January 8 - February 20, 2010
In his short lifespan of thirty-five years, North Carolina native Rick Horton (1954-1990) achieved numerous honors that elude most artists their entire career. He was the recipient of numerous fellowships including grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ingram Merrill Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. During his lifetime, he had over sixty gallery and museum exhibitions and an equal number since his death. His work can be found in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Mint Museum and the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University.
