September 17 - November 5, 2016
Jerald Melberg Gallery is pleased to present a new solo exhibition of recent paintings by Lexington, North Carolina native, Lee Hall. Hall has pursued careers as artist, educator and writer. Her paintings allow us to share her love for subtle shapes, variety in texturing, and muted color relationships. Her works are poetic landscapes, many deriving from the tradition of abstractions produced by meditations on nature, a tradition encompassing the painters of Asian dynasties, modernism and abstract expressionism.
Throughout her academic career, Hall painted and exhibited her work at the Betty Parsons Gallery. She is also the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Childe Hassam Purchase award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Jerald Melberg Gallery will host a Coffee and Conversation artist lecture with Lee Hall on Saturday, September 17 at 11 a.m.
