SUSAN GROSSMAN

Bright Lights, Big City

March 17 - May 19, 2012

Using charcoal and pastel, Susan Grossman creates luminous, shimmering drawings of cityscapes. Grossman most often explores the streets of New York City, camera in hand, to capture her imagery. A cinematic quality radiates through flashes of color that the artist couples with strong compositional and perspectival effects.

Susan Grossman earned a BA from Bennington College in 1981 and a MFA from Brooklyn College in 1988. She has taught at City College of New York and at the National Academy School of Fine Arts.
