Remembering Wolf
The world has lost perhaps the most beloved and respected American painter of the last 60 years. Wolf Kahn touched thousands of lives as a friend, teacher, patron, brilliant colorist and scrubber: Scrub, scrub, scrub. I'm not a painter, I'm a scrubber.
There are few artists who could produce such an emotional and visceral response to the viewing of his works. All of this will be part of his enormous legacy. I was privileged to know Wolf for over forty years. I loved him and miss him dearly, but I take joy in his phenomenal life and how much he contributed to all of us. Take a moment to pass by an old barn along the road or look up into a stand of trees. Wolf will be right there.
This is the artist's nineteenth solo exhibition with the gallery.
