American Abstraction: Group Exhibition

November 6, 2021 - January 1, 2022
Overview

Jerald Melberg Gallery presents an exhibition featuring works of American Abstraction.  Abstraction firmly took hold in the United States during the mid-twentieth century when the Abstract Expressionist movement emerged in New York City. The artists of that time left such an indelible mark on the aesthetics and ethos of American art that the spirit of their tradition has persisted for decades. Each artist in this exhibition was either a member of the Abstract Expressionist movement at its inception or has carried its legacy into the proceeding generations, all the way up to the present day.

The exhibiting artists include Jesse Bardin, Katherine Boxall, Lee Hall, Paul Jenkins, Ida Kohlmeyer, Thomas McNickle, Robert Motherwell, Roland Poska, James Rosati, and Brian Rutenberg.
